Description
Hanwha Energy Australia is a subsidiary of Hanwha Energy Corporation, one of Korea's leading clean energy companies. We develop utility-scale solar and BESS projects, and deliver BESS system integration (SI) solutions, designing, supplying and commissioning complete battery storage systems across the National Electricity Market. We are seeking a Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of utility-scale BESS and hybrid PV+BESS system integration packages. This role owns execution across the full SI lifecycle, from early design coordination and OEM management through construction interface, commissioning and commercial handover, working across OEMs, EPC contractors, grid consultants and network stakeholders. As our SI pipeline grows, this role will also take ownership of incoming new project opportunities from early engagement through delivery. Responsibilities 1. Project Planning, Schedule & Cost Control
- Develop and maintain the integrated master schedule across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover; monitor progress against key milestones, identify critical path risks and drive timely mitigation actions to ensure on‑time COD.
- Manage project budget, cost tracking and cashflow visibility; forecast financial impacts arising from delays, scope changes or interface issues; lead project governance, reporting and stakeholder alignment throughout. 2. Procurement & Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate procurement schedules and OEM relationships (technical submittals, FAT) to align BESS and inverter equipment delivery with overall project milestones; escalate schedule or cost risks associated with supplier performance or delivery changes. 3. EPC & Construction Interface Coordination
- Coordinate installation methodology and interface requirements with EPC contractors; manage technical queries, site constraints and ensure construction activities are synchronised with equipment delivery and project milestones.
- Coordinate commissioning and energisation schedules with the appointed commissioning specialist, EPC contractor and grid consultants; ensure prerequisite works and documentation are completed to support SAT and handover. Technical execution remains the responsibility of the commissioning specialist. 5. Commercial & Contract Management
- Manage change control processes including variation assessment, delay notices, Change Orders and Extension of Time (EOT) claims; coordinate commercial review of client, OEM and contractor interfaces where schedule or scope changes affect cost or contractual position.
- Maintain records and documentation required to substantiate commercial claims, risk positions and performance guarantee obligations. 6. Project Governance, Handover & Close‑out
- Lead project governance, reporting, issue tracking and stakeholder alignment through to COD; drive punch‑list close‑out and documentation handover to client and operations teams, capturing lessons learned to contribute to internal delivery tools and standards. Personal qualities and behaviours
- Proactive and solutions‑oriented, with the initiative to identify risks early and drive issues through to resolution.
- Effective communicator and collaborator, able to work across diverse stakeholders including OEMs, EPC contractors, grid authorities and clients.
- Accountable and delivery‑focused, with a track record of following through on commitments in complex, multi‑party project environments.
- Adaptable and comfortable operating in a growing team where processes are still being built, bringing structure without waiting for it. Work experience & skills
- 10+ years’ experience in utility‑scale energy, BESS, renewable industry, or EPC, power infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated project management experience across complex technical interfaces.
- Solid understanding of BESS and/or hybrid system delivery in the Australian market.
- Familiarity with grid connection, commissioning and contractor coordination processes; direct AEMO / NSP / TNSP experience is advantageous but not essential (preferred).
- Strong communication, commercial judgement and execution discipline.
- Direct experience in BESS system integration or hybrid PV+BESS delivery, particularly within a manufacturer‑backed SI environment where equipment supply and system integration are managed under the same organisation (preferred).
- Experience negotiating Performance Guarantees and structuring back‑to‑back OEM warranty arrangements (preferred).
- Experience in technical‑commercial negotiation and contract execution (preferred).
- Experience across both BESS or renewable energy and construction or EPC delivery (preferred).
- PMP or equivalent project management certification (preferred).
- Experience coordinating with third‑party logistics providers or managing equipment delivery and import/export processes (preferred). #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply on Kit Job: kitjobau.com/job/3rss9k
