MEP Quality Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) …, Sydney

About the Role We are seeking an experienced MEP Quality Engineer to support the delivery of major infrastructure and mission critical projects across NSW. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and compliance across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems throughout all stages of construction, testing, and commissioning. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives to ensure high-quality project delivery. Experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is essential, with data centre experience highly preferred. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain project quality management systems for MEP works
- Prepare, review, and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, quality records, and commissioning documentation
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, Australian Standards, and client requirements
- Coordinate hold points, witness points, testing, and inspections with subcontractors and stakeholders
- Monitor installation quality across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality close-out processes
- Support testing and commissioning activities and ensure all QA documentation is completed accurately
- Liaise with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients regarding quality and compliance matters
- Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately within document management systems
- Assist with project handover documentation and final completion requirements
- Promote continuous improvement and compliance with project quality objectives Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a QA/QC or Quality Engineer role within construction or infrastructure projects
- Mandatory experience working on major infrastructure projects
- Strong experience across Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems
- Data centre project experience highly preferred
- Strong understanding of QA processes, testing requirements, commissioning, and project compliance documentation
- Experience managing ITPs, inspections, commissioning records, and NCR processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project/document management systems
- Experience working on Tier 1 or large-scale projects is highly regarded What We Offer
