Software Developer (.NET / Angular / Azure) (City of Sydney)

Job Overview An exciting opportunity for an experienced Full Stack Developer to join a high-performing Digital Platforms team, delivering robust, scalable solutions across internal and customer-facing systems. This role sits at the intersection of modern software engineering and AI-enabled development , giving you the chance to work with cutting‑edge tools while contributing to enterprise‑grade platforms in a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain web applications and APIs using C# .NET, Angular, and SQL Server
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, and Architects across the full SDLC
- Enhance and refactor existing systems for performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Support cloud migration to Azure and ongoing platform improvements
- Build and enhance front‑end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Conduct code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment activities
- Integrate with internal, third‑party, and client platforms AI & Modern Engineering Focus
- Use tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code , and similar to accelerate development
- Review and validate AI‑generated code for quality, security, and maintainability
- Contribute to the adoption of AI‑enabled engineering practices across the SDLC
- Identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve platform capability and efficiency
- Ensure alignment with responsible AI principles within a regulated environment About You
- Strong experience with .NET (4.8+), .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC/Razor, and C#
- Proven experience building enterprise applications and Web APIs
- Front‑end experience with Angular (preferred) or React , plus JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3
- Solid SQL Server and relational database experience
- Exposure to Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, Key Vaults)
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of secure coding practices (OWASP)
- Experience with AI‑assisted development tools and ability to critically assess outputs Desirable Experience
- Background in financial services or regulated environments
- Experience with containers (Docker) and contemporary Microsoft frameworks (e.g. Blazor)
- Exposure to AI integration concepts (LLMs, APIs, RAG, agents)
- Familiarity with AI governance, risk, and compliance considerations
- 6+ years' experience in software development Ways of Working
