- 11:59pm About The Opportunity We are looking for a dedicated and collaborative Phlebotomist to join our Pathology Collection Service at Nepean Hospital. The successful applicants must be available to participate in a 24/7 shift roster including weekends and public holidays. What You’ll Be Doing Contribute to a customer‑focused pathology collection service across inpatient, outpatient and home care settings. Provide a high‑quality healthcare service to all referrers and consumers. Perform venepuncture and other duties pertaining to specimen collection, data entry, processing, and delivery into sites for pathology investigations as required. What We Can Offer You

- Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or previous experience in venepuncture
- Demonstrated customer service experience and skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and clinical staff in an setting transferable to this role
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve general issues within the clinical environment including specimen preparation and transport ensuring specimen viability
- Familiarity with pathology terminology and requirements and willingness to learn a broad scope of collection, data entry and specimen preparation practices including paediatric and neonatal blood collections
- Willingness to participate in shift work, including weekend work as required, and travel to any site or location within the operational area as requested
- Ability to manage a demanding professional environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines
- Proficient computer skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy
- Current NSW C‑class driver’s licence (P1 or P2 accepted) is required; interstate C‑class licence holders must obtain an NSW C‑class licence within three months of appointment (learner licences not accepted). Must have capacity to travel to any site for a shift as required
- Valid working rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Pass NSW Health vaccination and screening requirements before starting employment and may be required to undergo a functional assessment prior to appointment
