Our products include rating engines, underwriting platforms, geospatial tools, climate risk models, and other API‑driven solutions—designed to help our clients make faster and better‑informed business decisions. Role Overview We are looking for a junior Technical Business Analyst to join our Product & Solutions team in Sydney or Melbourne. You’ll work alongside actuarial consultants and developers to help deliver and support Finity’s suite of insurance software products used by insurers across Australia and Recent Zealand. We’d also welcome applications from junior insurance underwriters – particularly those with experience in commercial lines or property, who are looking to move into a more software focused and product management role. Key Responsibilities
- Provide analytical and operational support to product teams across Finity’s suite of software products
- End to end product administration, including preparing, implementing, monitoring, and updating reports and quality control
- Interact with clients on product queries, data requests and issue resolution
- Identify and support process improvements to make product delivery more efficient
- Work with internal stakeholders (product leads, developers, actuaries) to deliver on key product milestones
- Prepare, implement, monitor and update product reports and data outputs, including quality control
- Support product implementation and onboarding for new clients
- Understanding of contracts and pricing for key clients
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships to facilitate partnerships and cooperation.
- Initiate and monitor actions to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems, processes and services. Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a business analyst, insurance operations, or similar analytical role
- Strong reasoning skills and ability to independently think through a problem
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and data manipulation
- Attention to detail and comfort working with structured data
- Good communication skills – able to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities across multiple workstreams
- The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work for self and the team
- A calm and pragmatic approach to working in an environment with multiple and conflicting demands
- Strong Microsoft Word & PowerPoint skills with the ability to draft and format complex written documents
- Excellent attention to detail Desired Skills and Experience
- Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence or equivalent
- Background in insurance underwriting, pricing support, or product operations
- Familiarity with commercial lines or property insurance
- Experience with data tools (SQL, Power BI, or similar) – not required, but highly encouraged
- Exposure to software product environments or SaaS platforms
