Insurance (Transport & Trade) - Associate (Sydney)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join the Sydney Insurance (Transport & Trade) team working with Maurice Lynch. The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate to join the Insurance (Transport & Trade) group in Sydney on a full-time basis working alongside a leading Partner, Maurice Lynch. In this role, you will be acting for insurers, freight forwarders and other corporations and government authorities in shipping, marine, aviation, road, rail and trade related litigation. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

- Reviewing files and advising clients on policies, coverage disputes and liability assessments;


- Handle claims arising from transport operations;


- Preparing court documents, including statements of evidence;


- Drafting correspondence and communicating with other practitioners;


- Appearing before Court;


- File management. Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have between 3-5 years’ PQE. The role will suit a candidate with some experience with cargo recoveries, liability claims and policy indemnity disputes relating to the transport sector, although candidates with experience in subrogated property and property liability claims or general litigation will be considered. You bring a professional demeanour and outstanding communication abilities, with a strong commitment to client service. Your capacity to manage priorities effectively, take initiative, and maintain meticulous attention to detail is backed by a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
