TELECOMMUNICATIONS CABLE JOINTER (City of Sydney)

Job Summary Highflow Connections Pty Ltd is a leading provider of NBN installation, repair, and maintenance services located in Hurstville, NSW. We are seeking a Telecommunications Cable Jointer. In this role you will join, terminate, and repair copper and fibre optic cables to keep networks operational and reliable. Key Responsibilities
- Join, terminate, and repair copper and fibre optic telecommunications cables.
- Attach wires and cables to appliances and telecommunications devices.
- Test and troubleshoot equipment using electronic instruments to identify faults.
- Adjust, replace, and repair defective items to ensure network reliability.
- Seal cable sheaths using lead and thermoplastic materials to protect against environmental factors.
- Install and maintain aerial and underground wires and cables for telecommunication networks.
- Erect and test support structures for overhead cable installations.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of telecommunications systems to prevent outages.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety protocols, and client specifications.
- Assist in the installation of telecommunications equipment, including modems and routers.
- Document work activities, including repairs and installations, for reporting and record-keeping.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects. Qualifications and Experience
- A Certificate IV in Telecommunications Technology or equivalent qualification.
- At least one year experience in telecommunications cable jointing or a related field. Skills Required
- Strong technical and diagnostic skills in telecommunications systems.
- Familiarity with copper and fibre optic cables, including jointing and termination techniques.
- Solid understanding of industry standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Proficiency in using cable jointing and termination tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities to address network issues effectively.
