Equity Research Associate
- Metals & Mining (Global IB) Sydney based Working for arguably the most successful Global Investment Banking franchise in Australia. You will be working alongside one of the most respected Lead Metals & Mining Analysts on the street. There is a clear and backed pathway to initiating stock coverage and the accent to a lead coverage. Your name will have more exposure across more domestic and international funds, asset managers, and hedge funds than any other 'Associate' seat. I am looking for someone exceptional
- highly technical across financials (DCF/3 Way modelling), a subject matter expert across Metals & Mining, and most importantly highly commercial and deal orientated. The likely candidate will currently be sitting in an Associate seat across Metals and Mining whether it be research or ECM. Otherwise an Engineer / Geo with has a high level of commercial acumen. The core of the Equity Research role is to perform valuations and underpin stock recommendations through analysis, financial modelling (DCF/3 Way) and provide company/industry insights. Responsibilities
- Prepare presentations and marketing materials for fund, asset managers, and hedge funds
- Balance commodity market fundamentals, technical engineering data, and complex financial relationships
- Build and maintain financial models (DCF/3 Way)
- Maintain valuation databases for stocks under coverage and support the writing of the investment product, including company, sector, and thematic reports Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Commerce/Economics or a mining technical related discipline (such as geology or engineering)
- 2 + years experience across Capital Markets (ideally Equity Research/ECM working within Metals & Mining), very happy to consider Investment Banking / Big 4
- TS / M&A; / Corporate
- Corp Dev Internal M&A;, of course commercial Engineers / Geo's with technical financial modelling / deal experience ideal but not essential
- A background in Geology, Engineering and or Mineral Economic

- CFA/MBA/Masters of Applied Finance

- Solid analytical, excel and financial modelling skills (DCF/3 Way)
