Intellectual Property & Export Control Support Officer (Sydney)

**Downer Professional Services**is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for an **Intellectual Property & Export Control Support Officer**, based in Sydney, to provide essential administrative and compliance support to the Defence business function.

**What You’ll Do**

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

- Coordinate invention disclosures and support IP-related documentation and briefings.
- Maintain and update the IP register, tracking patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

- Process and assess access requests for restricted and export-controlled information.
- Prepare compliance recommendation and maintain records for audits and approvals.

**What You’ll Bring**
- Solid understanding of intellectual property processes and eagerness to learn export control regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for managing documentation.
- Effective communication skills for briefings and stakeholder engagement.- Experience in government, defence, research, or regulated industries is desirable.- Currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.

In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be an inherent requirement.
