- Power Engineering Join Beca’s Power team as an Associate Power Engineer. This role supports high‑value projects across Australasia, from traditional HV transmission to infrastructure and industrial projects. Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of primary/HV projects from feasibility, concept designs, detail designs, and owner’s engineer stages.
- Develop, mentor, and lead junior engineers.
- Lead the primary design of high‑voltage substations and other related infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports.
- Lead teams of engineers to undertake large packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff.
- Provide concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings, etc.
- Maintain current design standards as set by statutory requirements.
- Carry out quality checks and procedures.
- Offer high‑quality technical advice to our clients and collaborate across business lines.
- Support strategic bids and tenders for future energy projects across ANZ. Qualifications
- Proven senior engineering experience in power infrastructure (HV/EHV transmission, distribution, or traction).
- Experience in substation primary engineering for HV/EHV substations (up to 500 kV ideally).
- Strong electronic design and electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Proficiency with engineering software and design tools.
- Organised, adaptable, and able to think outside the box.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Effective communication with ability to explain complex issues.
- Results‑oriented with solid project delivery experience in transmission, distribution, or rail traction power.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering. What We Offer
