The DVC Education portfolio supports the development and implementation of the University’s strategy and vision for teaching and learning and students’ educational experience. It contributes to institution‑wide initiatives aimed at improving student learning, including curriculum renewal, innovative pedagogy, learning analytics, eLearning and quality assurance for teaching. The portfolio’s primary functions include skilled learning and support for educational excellence and innovation; academic enrichment through curricular and co‑curricular programmes; and strategic, policy, analytics and administrative support in implementing and monitoring the University’s vision for learning and teaching. The Educational Innovation (EI) team provides integrated professional development and support for all aspects of learning and teaching, under the leadership of the PVC (Educational Innovation). The team supports whole‑of‑University professional learning, research and innovative thinking in pedagogy, learning analytics, eLearning and quality assurance. The “Education Focused” category is designed for educators known for exceptional skills in teaching, assessment and curriculum design. Professors within this category are recognised both internationally and within the University for their expertise in evidence‑based educational delivery, driving pedagogical advancements and influencing educational practices and guidelines. They commit a significant portion of their workload—70%—to educational end‑eavours and 20% to research.
