Australia Sector Manufacturing & Production Salary $80,000.00 per annum Fuse Recruitment are partnering with a busy food manufacturing warehouse in Lidcombe who are seeking an experienced Packaging Machine Operator to work in their Glass Jar packaging lines and join the team on a permanent full‑time basis. The facility manages raw ingredient intake, blending, cooking, filling, and packaging within controlled environments to meet strict food safety standards. Automated lines are supported by hands‑on production, maintenance, quality assurance, and warehousing teams working together to ensure efficiency and traceability. About the Role Reporting directly to the Production Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the fully automated production lines. These lines run the full process of labelling and dating finished Glass Jars products, carton packaging of products through to end‑of‑line automated palletising of carton products. This is an excellent opportunity to make this role your own and run this line with future opportunities to become a receiving team leader onsite! These production lines will also have brand new machinery installed in the next three months. Key Responsibilities In this role you will be responsible for daily set‑ups and start‑ups of the machines, troubleshooting during line runs and end‑of‑day shut down and cleaning of the machines and lines. You will also be required to operate LED control panels and adjust machinery parts to run different size glass jar products. Your duties will include Operate and monitor automated beverage labelling, carton packing and palletising machinery. Ensure final products, packaging materials and supplies are sufficiently stocked. Operating LED line control systems. Troubleshoot minor issues and escalatethe when necessary. Assist with changeovers and basic preventative maintenance tasks. Perform quality checks and maintain accurate QC documentation. Set up and adjust machinery, resolving basic mechanical problems. Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards in line with HACCP and GMP. Clean and sanitise production areas, equipment, and wash down machinery. Remove palletised products from end of line via pallet jack to staging areas. Support safe start‑up and shutdown procedures. Meet production targets and monitor line performance, escalating issues when required. Work safely, responsibly, and in compliance with company quality systems. Relevant tertiary qualifications advantageous. Previous Team Lead experience advantageous. Troubleshooting experience. Skills & Attributes Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a machine operator in FMCG or similar high‑speed automated manufacturing environments. Experience operating, labelling, carton packaging, and palletising automated machinery. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery. Understanding of HACCP, GMP, hygiene protocols, and quality systems. Ability to meet production and efficiency targets. Mechanical aptitude and understanding of how food production machinery operators. Excellent communication, literacy, and numeracy skills. Reliable attendance and a positive attitude. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to manually load/unload materials and work on your feet. Previous experience with high‑volume processing equipment (highly regarded).
