- Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney The Manager, Procurement Operations is responsible for leading the planning and execution of the Bureau of Meteorology's procurement operations practice consistent with legislation, Government policy and enterprise processes. The role plays an integral part in the overall effectiveness of the Procurement & Contracts function, ensuring both strategic priorities and governance requirements are balanced to support delivery of Bureau strategy.

With significant experience in establishing and improving enterprise procurement practices in an organisation, the Manager, Procurement Operations will collaborate with the Bureau's considerable commercial capabilities to deliver strategic, complex and operational procurements in line with Government policy and industry best practice standards, frameworks, practices and tools.

The role will have full responsibility for leading and managing the Procurement Operations team, including the recruitment and performance management of team members, as well as balancing the resourcing model between permanent staff and contractors. The incumbent must have significant experience in a procurement environment characterised by high volume, active prioritisation, internal engagement, and hands-on delivery of procurements and contracts.

The successful candidate will be expected to be the key support role for the Procurement & Contracts Lead and will demonstrate high-level critical thinking, problem solving and influencing skills to ensure strategic and governance requirements are met for the Bureau. They will develop and maintain productive relationships with the Bureau Executive and Managers to ensure strategic priorities are delivered in conjunction with maintaining ongoing Bureau operations.
