About the Role We are seeking a skilled and experienced Landscape Gardener for an immediate full time start, working 38 hours per week from Mona Vale, NSW 2103. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including:
- Interpreting landscape plans, drawings, and project layouts in accordance with client requirements and site specifications.
- Coordinating landscaping activities to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within timelines.
- Marking out structural and planted landscape features, including both hard and soft landscaping components.
- Constructing landscape structures, including gravel and paved surfaces, retaining walls, fences, trellises, pergolas, ponds, barbecues, and outdoor garden furniture.
- Preparing soil areas, seedbeds, and planting sites to promote healthy plant establishment and growth.
- Planting and maintaining trees, hedges, bushes, flowers, and bulbs according to landscape plans.
- Preparing lawn areas through spreading and levelling topsoil, sowing grass seed, and laying instant turf, and ongoing maintenance like mowing, top soiling, and fertilizing.
- Inspecting and assessing trees to determine their health, structural condition, and required treatment or maintenance.
- Trimming and shaping tree branches and removing limbs using chainsaws, handsaws, and other specialised equipment.
- Applying sprays, fertilisers, and pest or disease control treatments to plants and trees, and removing diseased or damaged trees where required.
- Operating and maintaining irrigation systems
- Operating landscaping machinery, tools, and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all landscaping work complies with workplace health, safety, and environmental standards. Skills and Experience Required: For this position, it is expected that the candidate possesses the following qualifications and work experience:
- A Certificate III in Landscape Construction or a closely related qualification with at least 1 year of full-time experience working in a Landscape Gardener role. This formal qualification can be substituted by at least 3 years of work experience in a Landscape Gardener role.
