- Develop and continuously improve Distribution Asset Class Strategies and life-cycle plans
- Lead annual asset performance and integrity reviews to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives
- Develop clear Chance Briefs and support robust engineering options assessments
- Support investment planning that balances risk, performance, customer outcomes, and expenditure
- Drive initiatives that improve network resilience, sustainability, and emissions reduction outcomes
- Maintain high-quality asset documentation, standards, and data management practices Network Capacity & Operational Support
- Provide engineering and modelling support to maintain reliable network supply and performance
- Support emergency response activities and contribute to the 24/7 gas emergency engineering roster
- Partner with operations and field teams to investigate and resolve network performance issues
- Support gas supply requests, relocations, contingency planning, and network transfer activities
- Lead winter performance modelling activities and support long-term capacity planning
- Contribute to capital forecasting and strategic investment recommendations Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and support a capable and engaged technical team
- Foster a culture of inclusion, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Support employee development, coaching, and growth opportunities
- Build strong relationships across engineering, operations, planning, and project delivery teams
- Encourage knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving across the business Safety, Risk & Governance
- Support the integrity and safe operation of critical infrastructure assets
- Provide subject matter expertise across risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
- Contribute to Safety Management Systems and Safety Cases
- Ensure compliance with asset management frameworks, standards, and regulatory obligations
- Support ongoing improvement and certification of Jemena’s Asset Management System About You You are someone who enjoys solving complex challenges while working collaboratively with others to deliver practical and meaningful outcomes. You combine strong analytical thinking with empathy, communication, and a continuous improvement mindset. Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline
- Eligibility to attain Certified Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Registered Professional Engineer status Experience & Strengths
- Experience in asset management, utilities, gas networks, infrastructure, energy, or industrial environments
- Understanding of distribution networks and capacity modelling
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience supporting or leading teams within complex operational environments
- Understanding of risk management and asset integrity principles
- Commercial and financial awareness, including life-cycle costing and investment planning Experience with gas networks, regulatory frameworks, or the Sydney Short Term Trading Market will be highly regarded but is not essential.
