- Build your regulatory experience in a collaborative environment We are partnering with an Australian Government regulatory body to recruit an experienced Pharmacist to join a team responsible for the evaluation and authorisation of prescription medicines on a 12-month full-time contract in Canberra. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to nationally significant regulatory outcomes and work at the centre of Australia’s medicine approval framework in a collaborative and high-performing environment.

About the Role You will be involved in the assessment of prescription medicine applications, with a particular focus on minor variation pathways. The role requires the provision of high-quality clinical and legislative advice, active participation in regulatory decision-making, and support for the efficient and transparent progression of applications throughout the regulatory lifecycle.

You will work closely with medical officers, delegates, and a range of stakeholders, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational enhancements within the section. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and finalise minor variation applications for prescription medicines with a high degree of accuracy, under delegate supervision
- Review and provide advice on proposed Product Information for recent generic medicines
- Draft approval correspondence on behalf of Medical Officer delegates
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues associated with variation submissions
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing clinical and legislative advice across the branch Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Australian citizenship (essential)
- Current registration as a practising pharmacist with AHPRA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
- The ability to exercise sound professional judgement in complex regulatory matters
