Description
We are looking for an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical and Tunnels team based in Sydney or Newcastle. You will be integral part of bidding, delivering, and managing geotechnical investigation projects and designs across a range of sectors such as transport, water, mining, energy and property.
What you’ll do:
Design, undertake and manage geotechnical investigation projects from proposal preparation to fieldwork, analysis and reporting.
Perform desktop studies, field work and laboratory scheduling for geotechnical investigations.
Interpret and analyse investigation results to deliver designs that contribute to multidisciplinary projects across the sectors.
Support clients during construction to ensure designs are built according to intent.
Collaborate with geotechnical colleagues and other disciplines throughout project delivery.
Drive business development through successful delivery of projects.
Promote a secure working culture by identifying and eliminating safety hazards.
About You:
A civil engineering or Geotechnical degree (or related).
Postgraduate qualifications in a geotechnical related field will be considered favorably.
Successful track record in undertaking and project‑managing field investigations for small to medium sized geotechnical projects.
Willingness to spend time in the field collecting high‑quality geotechnical data.
Proven record of promoting innovation in geotechnical engineering to create value for clients and projects.
Experience in the preparation of written technical reports and client communications.
Experience in geotechnical design including rock/soil/structure interaction.
Robust work ethic, ability to work autonomously and in a team setting.
Ability to take responsibility for geotechnical investigation and design delivery in multidisciplinary environments as a geotechnical Design Manager.
