Cloud Support Apprenticeship Program

The Cloud Support Apprenticeship Program is designed for Australian permanent residents who are passionate about technology and looking to start their career in cloud computing. It offers an accelerated pathway that combines skilled training and on‑the‑job experience, leading to a Vocational Diploma in IT and the possibility of permanent employment at AWS.

Program Details

In‑person on‑the‑job training at AWS in Sydney – 3 days a week over an 18‑month period.

Instructor‑led training (2 days a week) in a virtual classroom delivered by a Vocational Provider – results in a recognized Diploma.

Program commences 2026 H1.

Graduates may transition to a permanent role within AWS as part of a world‑class technical team.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with network, systems, and software engineers to design proactive mechanisms that monitor and maintain distributed Linux server fleets.

Deploy and monitor system operations and automation tools to ensure optimal regional tooling performance.

Analyze trends and metrics to identify and implement improvements to frameworks, tools, and processes.

Carry out high‑quality systems deployment, operations, and best‑practice implementation while documenting procedures and generating reports.

Maintain systems functionality, performance, and configuration integrity.

Apply Unix knowledge and support system deployments.

Contribute regularly to support documentation development.

Operate with limited guidance and drive issues to resolution.

Basic Qualifications

Year 12 certificate or higher.

Interest in pursuing a technology career.

Availability to begin the program in 2026 H1 and work/study for 18 months.

No existing vocational Diploma in the same field (e.g., IT).

Preferred Qualifications

Certificate III or Certificate IV in IT.

Degree in IT or computer science from another country (not yet recognised in Australia).
