About STC Sydney Theatre Company is Australia's largest theatre company and the state theatre company of NSW. Role Overview: The Senior Production Manager provides expert leadership for the delivery of shows and production management services. It ensures that the production management capabilities of are aligned with our artistic vision and strategic goals. The role also leads and manages a team of specialists, ensuring that they provide outstanding service to all STC departments and show creatives. This role establishes and maintains supportive, high-quality relationships to assist in ensuring that requirements are clearly communicated and delivered. The Senior Production Manager works closely with the Director, Technical & Production, Head of Technical Operations, Head of Production, and Head of Stage Management. The role is directly managed by the Director of Technical and Production for line and staff management and reports to the Head of Production to manage allocation of STC’s main stage, high profile productions, co-productions and tours. The Senior Production Manager ensures that accurate and timely information is provided to the Director, Technical & Production, Head of Production, Producers and Senior Management Team so that they can make appropriate and informed decisions about STC Productions. - Minimum of seven years relevant industry experience, preferably within a producing theatre company, with extensive knowledge of technical and production areas covering all disciplines.
- Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills with a proven ability to lead teams and manage people.
- Excellent project management skills with a logical and analytical approach to planning and the allocation of resources.
- A high level of attention to detail and quality control to ensure that all elements of a production are produced to the highest standards.
- Extensive knowledge of theatre practices, terminology, etiquette and theatre craft covering local, national and internation shows and companies.
- Strong financial management skills with a proven ability to manage and control large budgets.
- A high level of understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and procedures that relate to the theatre and entertainment industries with proven experience of implementing these requirements in a sympathetic manner.
- Experience of touring productions either domestically or internationally.
