Overview The Computational Biology Group leads a diverse portfolio of projects in precision medicine, genomics, and bioinformatics, spanning novel methods development, data systems, and the generation of biological and clinical insights from large-scale multi‑omic datasets. Responsibilities We are looking for a Bioinformatics Research Engineer to:
- Develop and implement computational systems for precision medicine, enabling the extraction, integration, and delivery of clinically relevant knowledge from diverse data sources.
- Design knowledge‑driven architectures, including knowledge graphs and inference mechanisms, to model domain knowledge and support scalable, automated curation workflows.
- Apply and evaluate AI‑driven approaches, including LLM‑based workflows, to enhance knowledge extraction, synthesis, and interaction across clinical and research datasets.
- Collaborate across engineering, curation, and research teams to integrate solutions into production workflows, while contributing to research outputs and mentoring students. Qualifications
- Master’s degree in bioinformatics, software engineering, computer science, computational biology or a related discipline.
- 3+ years’ experience in precision medicine or related roles with demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology and/or software development.
- A working understanding of graph‑based data systems or knowledge graphs, with hands‑on experience designing and maintaining knowledge graphs in production or research settings a plus.
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques, including NLP or large language models, in a research or data‑driven context.
- Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams spanning research, engineering, and clinical domains. Perks We will support you to be your best with perks that include but are not limited to:
