About the Role
The Team Leader, Library Research Services provides leadership and specialist expertise in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of high impact Library research services across the University. The role plays a key relationship management function, building and sustaining partnerships with academic stakeholders, research administration, governance units and external partners to ensure the delivery of integrated, effective and sustainable research support services. The position sits within the Open Scholarship and Copyright department and contributes to services that support open scholarship, research data management and scholarly communication.
Detailed Description
Role Responsibilities
Lead and manage a specialist team responsible for delivering Library research support services across the research lifecycle.
Design, deliver and evaluate a portfolio of Library research services that are integrated, high impact and aligned with University priorities.
Develop and manage projects involving changes to Library functions that may impact other areas of the University.
Provide strategic advice to ensure Library research services remain fit for purpose, responding to emerging research policy, funder requirements and sector trends.
Develop, review and apply Library and University policies, processes and systems to support service delivery and operational effectiveness.
Oversee service performance, reporting on outcomes and using evidence to drive continuous improvement.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support multidisciplinary collaboration and service integration.
Develop and manage a high performing team, including performance management, work planning and career development.
Deputise for the Manager, Open Scholarship and Copyright as required.
Perform other duties consistent with the role and classification level.
About you
Skills, attributes, knowledge
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills enabling effective engagement, collaboration and partnership building.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes under pressure.
Demonstrated leadership capability with a collaborative, client centred approach.
Proactive commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, including the development of others.
Specialist knowledge of the research landscape, including policy, funder requirements and sector trends.
Advanced knowledge of current and emerging technologies, systems and data analytics relevant to Library and research services.
Strong understanding of University Library stakeholders and the ability to centre the client experience in service design and delivery.
Experience
Extensive experience building and leading effective teams and managing productivity.
Demonstrated experience leading the design, delivery and evaluation of research support services in an academic or research intensive environment.
Proven experience working strategically with stakeholders to deliver integrated services and organisational outcomes.
Experience managing complex projects and driving service improvement within a Library or comparable professional services context.
Qualifications
Relevant postgraduate qualification with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Remuneration/Salary
What We Offer
Base Salary Range: $120,827
- $137,609 (HEW8) plus 17% superannuation (pension)
The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
