Role overview We are looking for an experienced and degree-qualified Operational Chemist who will play a crucial role in managing waste in and out of our facilities. You will ensure compliance with our EPA and Dangerous Goods requirements, environmental regulations and contribute to the protected and productive operation of our sites and work processes. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will be able to apply their chemical knowledge and skills to identify, analyse and simulate operational processes and manage the outgoing waste to the various disposal locations. Must have's Hands‐on chemistry background – tertiary qualification in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Applied Science, at least 3 years experience Experience working in a dangerous goods warehouse; sorting, segregating and storing liquid, hazardous & chemical waste for protected transport and storage Strong safety and compliance mindset – solid understanding of WHS, environmental compliance, permits, sampling, manifests, and waste tracking Comfortable being on the tools – this is not a lab‐only role, must be comfortable in PPE, on the plant floor, and leading by example Highly Desirable Experience in pH adjustment, blending, separation and working with EPA licenses (sites and vehicles) Forklift and chemical handling tickets Benefits Competitive salary and benefits package.
