Data Solution Architect: AI & Data Strategy Leader (City of …, City of Sydney

Your next prospect At Boral, we are executing our IT strategy and roadmap to upgrade core applications, consolidate our application footprint and implement the next generation of systems that will digitise and automate our business and customer experience. This digitisation drive incorporates a major focus on data, analytics and advancing Boral’s use of AI. We have created a new role for a Data Solution Architect who will design and drive the solutions for the roadmap’s AI, data and analytics initiatives as well as providing Data Architecture oversight over other IT initiatives. Reporting to the Enterprise Architect and Data Lead, the Data Solution Architect will be part of the Data and Architecture Team and work alongside the Business, delivery teams and application owners. Your day will involve:
- Designing, documenting and driving the solutions for the IT Roadmap’s Data and AI initiatives.
- Defining, analysing, documenting and maintaining Boral’s organisational and system data landscape.
- Driving alignment in the data warehouse and integration to this landscape.
- Defining and establishing the data governance framework and practices that address data management and governance.
- Contributing designs and materials to the establishment of an Enterprise Data Strategy and an Artificial Intelligence Strategy.
- Driving the execution of IT led AI pilot and Proof of Concept projects.
- Bridging the technical/non-technical user gap, translating AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Providing Data Architecture consultancy and support to the roadmap initiatives and to the Data/Architecture team. What are we looking for?
- Relevant tertiary level qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or similar.
- Experience in Data or Data Solution Architecture roles, including 2+ years experience in AI/ML employment.
- Demonstrated experience in AI implementation, from pilot to production.
- Experience in modern, cloud-based data platforms (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Databricks).
- Knowledge and understanding of new technologies and directions in AI, data management and data science.
- Experience of data modelling, including E-R, dimensional and Data Vault design.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices and supporting technologies.
- The ability to consult and work with a range of stakeholders and teams (including business, architects, Business Analysts and application managers) to develop appropriate solutions. What’s on offer?
