A leading global investment bank is seeking a Vice President to join its Australian advisory team. The role would suit an experienced investment banking qualified who wants to step into a more visible position
- leading execution, working closely with senior bankers, managing junior teams and developing trusted relationships with high-calibre clients across the Australian market. The Opportunity As Vice President, you will play a central role in the delivery of complex advisory transactions, with exposure across public and private M&A;, capital raisings, strategic reviews and broader corporate advisory mandates. You will work with listed corporates, private companies, financial sponsors and institutional clients, supporting them through critical strategic moments including acquisitions, divestments, capital structure decisions, shareholder matters and growth initiatives. This is a role for someone who combines technical strength with commercial judgement. You will need to be equally comfortable reviewing the detail of a model, managing a demanding transaction process, guiding junior bankers and engaging credibly with senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of M&A;, capital raising and strategic advisory mandates, including financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, transaction structuring, process management and documentation.
- Manage key transaction workstreams from pitch through to completion, ensuring a high standard of analysis, materials, communication and execution discipline.
- Prepare and review financial models, valuation analysis, board papers, information memoranda, management presentations, pitch books and transaction documentation.
- Work closely with senior bankers on client coverage, origination strategy, pitch preparation and the development of new business opportunities.
- Engage with clients, counterparties, legal advisers, diligence providers, investors and internal stakeholders throughout live transaction processes.
- Manage, mentor and develop analysts and associates, setting clear standards around technical work, judgement, client service and professional conduct.
- Provide clients with market insights, transaction advice and commercially grounded recommendations.
- Stay close to relevant M&A; activity, valuation trends, capital markets conditions, regulatory developments and broader macroeconomic themes affecting client decision‑making. The successful candidate will likely bring:
- Proven investment banking experience from a global, domestic or high-quality independent advisory platform.
- A robust track record across M&A;, capital raising or strategic advisory transactions.
- Excellent technical skills across financial modelling, valuation, transaction analysis and deal documentation.
- Experience managing analysts and associates through live transaction processes.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to think beyond the numbers.
- Confidence engaging with senior clients, management teams, investors and advisers.
- High-quality written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, polished and persuasive client materials.
- The ability to manage multiple live priorities while maintaining accuracy, pace and execution quality.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach suited to a high-performance advisory environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce, economics, accounting, law or a related discipline. CFA, MBA or other postgraduate qualifications will be viewed favourably, but are not essential. Why Consider This Opportunity? Premium advisory platform
