- Hybrid working arrangements The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a Solution Architect – Data to join a major transformation program on a long‑term contract (until June 2027 ). Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Architecture & Strategy , you will play a key role in shaping and delivering data architecture solutions within a large‑scale Core Data & Analytics Services program . You will be responsible for designing and delivering end‑to‑end data solutions, aligning business requirements with scalable architecture, and contributing to enterprise‑wide digital transformation initiatives. This role suits a hands‑on Solution Architect with strong data expertise, experience in large complex environments, and the ability to engage across multiple programs and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver end‑to‑end data and solution architectures across program initiatives
- Translate business requirements into scalable, fit‑for‑purpose technical designs
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and roadmaps
- Develop architecture artefacts including blueprints, patterns, and target state designs
- Lead integration of multiple data sources and development of data pipelines
- Provide guidance on cloud, data, and integration architectures
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, analysts, and vendors to deliver solutions
- Facilitate workshops and provide technical leadership across stakeholders
- Identify and manage architecture risks and mitigation strategies Required Skills
- 5+ years’ experience as a Solution Architect across data, applications, and cloud environments
- Strong expertise in data architecture, data integration, and ETL processes
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and hybrid environments
- Proven experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
- Strong background in data warehousing and data lake architectures
- Experience delivering large-scale, complex data transformation programs
- Knowledge of integration architectures (API Gateway, iPaaS, ESB, REST, JSON)
- Experience designing scalable, high‑performance solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and documentation skills Desirable Skills
- Experience working in government or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to large-scale transformation programs (e.g., cloud migration, data centre refresh)
- Familiarity with virtualisation platforms (VMware, OpenShift)
- Experience modernising or migrating legacy systems
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends (including cyber security considerations)
