Aboriginal Community Mental Health Clinician (Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist/Social Worker /Welfare Officer Level 1/2, Psychologist) Employment Type: Permanent Full Time (38 hours per week) Position Classification: Psychologist, Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Welfare Officer Level 1/2 Location: Community Mental Health Services Requisition ID: REQ Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumers stay well in the community. The team provides specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. The services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers. The role will be based at Camperdown and is part of the Aboriginal Mental Health Unit (AMHU), which is a district-wide service. The AMHU is a small but dynamic team offering support to Aboriginal consumers in both inpatient and community settings of the SLHD mental health service. The team’s primary functions are short to medium term case management, assessment and consultation, providing culturally sensitive recommendations, advice and education. Responsibilities Provide clinical assessment, case management, and culturally appropriate mental health services to Aboriginal consumers across inpatient and community settings. Collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Offer educational and counseling support tailored to the cultural needs of Aboriginal clients. Qualifications
- Identified Aboriginal Position – Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent.
- Must hold a current NSW Driver’s Licence (P1 or P2 acceptable).
- Recognised tertiary qualifications appropriate to the profession.
- Full registration and eligibility for membership to the skilled association, as appropriate.
- Demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice. Benefits
