Overview Heirloom is a coastal kitchen & dining space opening June 2026. Located at Taren Point, south of Sydney, within a recent retirement living community. We invite experienced cooks to manage daily kitchen operations, produce Mediterranean‑inspired meals for residents, guests and the local community. Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high‑quality seasonal Mediterranean dishes
- Plan menus, manage stock ordering, and oversee daily kitchen operations
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, WHS, food safety and hygiene regulations
- Lead, mentor, and train kitchen staff
- Monitor costs, maintain budgets, and suggest process improvements
- Engage warmly with residents, guests and staff to create a welcoming environment Qualifications & Requirements
- Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
- Minimum four years’ experience in a chef or cook role, preferably in café or restaurant settings
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
- Excellent communication, literacy and teamwork skills
- Collaborative, positive approach to mentoring and supporting others
- Creativity and passion for delivering consistent, high‑quality food experiences
- Availability Thursday to Sunday Desirable but not essential: Experience in aged care or retirement living environments; knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine or other fresh, seasonal cooking styles. Benefits
