About the Role Located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country, Cumberland City Council is the fourth most populous Local Government Area in Greater Sydney. The Family Day Care Educator will run a home‑based quality early education and care service for children up to 13 years of age under the Education and Care National Law and Regulations, Family Assistance Legislation, and Education and Care’s Guiding Principles. Responsibilities
- Provide early childhood education and care services in the educator’s private home.
- Run the service as a business from home, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain a safe, child‑friendly setting for children up to 13 years of age.
- Engage with families to support children's growth and development. Qualifications
- Passion and desire to work with young children and their families.
- ACECQA approved qualification in Education and Care – minimum of Certificate III level.
- Current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis and CPR certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check number.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Creativity and flexibility.
- Ability to offer more than one year’s commitment to the service. Requirements
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia.
- Applicants must submit their WWCC number.
- Applicants will be required to provide information for pre‑employment checks, including criminal record checks, qualifications and licence checks, and proof of the right to work in Australia.
- Applicants residing within Cumberland LGA are preferred; others may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
