- $105,618.30
- $114,222.28 per annum + superannuation
- Fully maintained private use leaseback vehicle
- 35 hours per week + fortnightly rostered day off Location: Double Bay, New South Wales. Employment type: Full-time. About the Role Woollahra Council is offering a qualified Tree Management Compliance Officer role to investigate and conduct regulatory action for unauthorised tree works across the Woollahra Municipality. Responsibilities Ensure the provisions and controls of relevant environmental planning, tree and vegetation legislation are effectively applied. Report directly to the Manager, Open Space & Trees, and develop and implement case‑specific investigation plans for unauthorised tree and vegetation works. Maintain Council's records in accordance with compliance requirements and timelines. Essential Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in Environmental Law, Environmental Management, Law Enforcement and/or Investigations or a related field.
- Experience in environmental law or law enforcement, including investigations under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act & Local Government Act.
- Experience providing evidence in the Local and Land & Workplace Court.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Extensive experience interpreting and applying relevant legislation.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of internal and external parties.
- Demonstrated project management skills. Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with investigations involving breaches of tree and vegetation consents and permits.
- Experience and knowledge in a local government and political setting. Benefits
