Assistant Accountant (Sydney) (City of Sydney)

BASSIKE is seeking a detail-driven and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of a purpose-led Australian brand, while developing your accounting career in a collaborative and values-driven workplace. You will gain hands‑on experience across key accounting functions, working closely with a supportive team and playing an integral role in maintaining financial integrity and operational efficiency. This full‑time role will be based at our Warriewood head office. Key Responsibilities
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries
- Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with quarterly BAS preparation and compliance
- Support accounts payable, receivable and payroll processes
- Maintain accurate financial records to support audit and reporting requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects About You
- 1–3 years' experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (or currently studying)
- Solid proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- High attention to detail with strong analytical capability
- Well‑organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Clear and professional communication skills
- A proactive team player with a mindset for continuous improvement
- Exposure to ERP systems
- Interest in financial analysis and reporting
- A willingness to take initiative and grow within the business
