Description
About Omtero Omtero is an Australian software and consulting business with a 15-year history of developing disruptive & innovative modelling and regulatory reporting solutions. We work with some of Australia’s largest businesses to provide efficient, practical and fit-for-purpose outcomes across environmental reporting, risk analysis and regulatory disclosure. We are primarily a software company, but our platform is closely integrated with a specialised internal consulting team. This role sits at the intersection of consulting, risk analysis, technical reporting and product development. About the role We are looking for a highly capable Risk Analysis & Regulatory Reporting Consultant to work across scenario analysis, risk quantification, technical report writing and methodology development. This is not a conventional consulting role. You will be part of a small, dynamic and technology-focused business building an innovative risk analysis and reporting platform, including a probabilistic risk engine designed to help organisations quantify uncertain risk outcomes and translate them into practical reporting outputs. The role will include
- undertaking risk assessments and risk quantification work
- preparing explicit, structured and defensible client reports
- developing methodologies for risk analysis, scenario assessment and regulatory reporting
- working directly with clients to understand their business, risks and reporting needs
- supporting the development of structured scenarios for our probabilistic risk engine
- working with our product team to convert consulting methodologies into scalable software solutions
- making significant use of AI tools to improve the quality and speed of your work. Why this role is different This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of risk analysis, climate-related reporting, sustainability disclosure and probabilistic scenario modelling. You will be part of a business that is:
- building a highly innovative risk analysis and reporting platform
- small, dynamic and technology-focused
- free of traditional corporate bureaucracy
- operating on a genuine 4-day, 36-hour work week
- 100% work-from-home About you We are looking for someone highly capable, analytical and intellectually curious. You do not need extensive experience. We are far more interested in raw talent and learning ability than years in the industry. You will likely be a good fit if you are:
- highly intelligent (top 5% IQ) and able to learn complex topics quickly
- analytical and comfortable with structured problem-solving
- strong in written communication and technical report writing
- highly attentive to detail
- organised and able to manage work autonomously
- comfortable dealing directly with clients Your chance of getting an interview will be significantly improved if you can find a way to convey your analytical and intellectual abilities in your cover letter. You are also invited to provide an estimate of how much use of AI tools you intend to make, for example, how many hours per week. Whilst experience will be a secondary metric, the following types of experience would be beneficial:
- risk analysis
- financial modelling
- climate, emissions or sustainability reporting
- climate-related financial disclosures including AASB S2, ASRS, IFRS, TCFD, CSRD
- building methodology and systems into software solutions Salary $130,000–$140,000 base salary plus superannuation. Based on a genuine 36-hour work week and 100% WFH, the effective hourly rate is comparable to much more senior consulting roles in large firms once their typical 50+ hour working weeks and commuting time are taken into account.
