- Provide delivery of speech pathology services for inpatients and outpatients presenting with communication and/or swallowing impairments, arranging appropriate ongoing speech pathology care post discharge in a timely manner according to departmental policies.
- Develop and maintain effective collaboration with members of the clinical care team, participating in ward rounds, working parties, clinical team meetings, etc as required.
- Take responsibility for managing your own time to ensure clinical and administrative tasks are completed in an appropriate timeframe.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, planning days, clinical in-services, regular journal club and other continuing education activities within the department and organisation.
- Contribute to the maintenance of departmental resources including teaching materials, references and information files related to patient care. About you
- Bachelor or post-graduate degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligibility for full practicing membership of the Speech Pathology Australia Association.
- Clinical experience in the management of adult population with speech and swallowing disorders using evidenced based practice.
- Demonstrated evidence of using independent professional judgement in the assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in acute and sub-acute care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of quality improvement activities that have led to improvements in clinical practice and patient outcomes.
