Position Purpose The Project Engineer plays a key role in the end‑to‑end delivery of advanced automation projects, contributing to the design, development, programming, integration, testing, and commissioning of systems utilising AI, robotics, and vision‑guided technologies. This position suits a hands‑on, technically capable engineer who can work across the full project lifecycle within a small, flexible team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team to develop innovative industrial automation and robotics solutions, including applications that have not previously been automated. Input is especially valued from a control engineering perspective.
- Support all stages of automation projects, from initial concept and design through to on‑site commissioning and post‑installation support.
- Design and deliver industrial automation control systems, including PLC programming with strong capability in Structured Text.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to refine designs and ensure project goals are achieved.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation, system specifications, and testing procedures.
- Ensure solutions meet applicable safety, quality, and engineering standards.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in continuous learning, including gaining exposure to robot and PC‑based programming. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- At least four years’ experience in industrial automation, ideally within a project delivery environment.
- Proven involvement in controls systems for complex automation projects, spanning design, simulation/testing, and commissioning phases.
- Experience working on‑site, with the flexibility to travel as project requirements dictate.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Experience in robot programming.
- Experience in PC‑based programming.
