Role Description As an Azure Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for architecting, governing, and optimising Microsoft Azure environments across multiple client platforms. You will act as the technical authority for cloud design decisions and work closely with engineering, security, and leadership teams. This is a strategic and hands‑on role, combining architecture, governance, and client advisory. Key Responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end Azure architectures (IaaS, PaaS, hybrid)
- Create Azure landing zones and reference architectures
- Ensure high availability, resilience, scalability, and performance
- Lead solution design for new client engagements and projects
- Architect Zero Trust and secure cloud environments
- Design identity and access controls (Entra ID, MFA, RBAC)
- Implement governance using Azure Policy, tagging, and guardrails
- Align solutions with security frameworks (ISO 27001, Essential Eight)
- Lead on‑premises to Azure migrations
- Modernise workloads into PaaS, containers, or serverless services
- Design hybrid integrations and connectivity
- Define Infrastructure as Code (Bicep / Terraform)
- Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
- Promote repeatable, auditable cloud deployments
- Design cost‑optimised architectures (FinOps)
- Advise on Azure Cost Management, Savings Plans, and optimisation
- Provide architectural documentation and advisory input to clients Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cloud / infrastructure architecture
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure
- Deep understanding of Azure networking, security, and identity
- Experience with Windows & Linux workloads
- Experience with hybrid cloud architectures
- Experience designing secure, production‑grade systems
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder communication skills Desirable Skills
- Azure certifications (AZ‑305, AZ‑104, AZ‑500 or equivalent)
- Experience in MSP or multi‑client environments
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, Defender
