Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer – Orange NSW …, Sydney

- Salary commensurate with experience We are inviting expressions of interest from engineering geologists or geotechnical engineers with at least three years of experience to lead our Orange Branch. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish D&N; Geotechnical’s presence in a region, with existing projects in place. You’ll be our first D&N; team member based locally, with strong support from our Canberra, Sydney, and Brisbane offices. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day tasks with a high degree of autonomy and have access to ongoing technical support and guidance whenever needed. The role suits someone confident in fieldwork, analysis, and reporting, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be involved in:
- Leading or supporting geotechnical and geological fieldwork (drilling, sampling, site investigations)
- Data collection, interpretation, and reporting
- Coordinating fieldwork logistics and subcontractors
- Project delivery and client communication
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental systems We’re looking for someone who can work independently but stay connected with our broader team. The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Earth Science, Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering (Washington Accord-recognised)
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- A proactive and adaptable mindset, with strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage fieldwork and deliver reports confidently
- A willingness to travel for site work as needed
