The Prospect We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Calculation & Insurance Technical Controller to join our Finance team. This role is central to supporting actuarial processes within finance, with a strong focus on IFRS 17 implementation, reporting, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in delivering accurate financial and actuarial reporting, supporting strategic insights, and ensuring compliance with APRA requirements. Reporting to the Head of FP&A;, you will collaborate closely with the actuarial, IT, and broader finance teams, as well as international stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Actuarial Calculation (IFRS 17)
- Support the local implementation of IFRS 17, particularly actuarial calculations
- Assist in forecasting IFRS 17 restatements
- Take ownership of actuarial calculations within Finance
- Act as the primary actuarial subject matter expert for Finance across:
- Accounting
- Capital and investment
- Management reporting
- Regulatory reporting
- Serve as a key liaison between:
- Local accounting and insurance teams
- Central EA finance and actuarial functions Insurance Technical Control
- Support insurance technical reporting for forecasting and planning activities
- Assist in delivering reporting to external stakeholders, including APRA and central teams
- Contribute to internal financial and actuarial reporting
- Provide support for strategic and ad-hoc analysis on business performance About You Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related role
- Qualified Actuary (essential)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Insurance and investment environments
- IFRS 17
- APRA reporting requirements
- Advanced skills in data manipulation and analysis
- Experience working with tools such as Qlik, R, Python, or Power BI is highly regarded Skills & Attributes
- Proven ability to work in project-based environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across multiple functions
- Comfortable working in an international and matrix environment
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
