Summary Avanade is growing, and we are seeking passionate, driven technology professionals to design and deliver innovative Modern Workplace solutions that transform the way organizations manage, govern, and extract value from their information assets. As a Up-to-date Workplace SharePoint Information Architect & Records Management Specialist (Manager), you will play a key role within our Modern Workplace practice, helping enterprise clients design and implement scalable, compliant, and business‑aligned information architectures. The role plays a pivotal role in establishing the information foundations required for effective and safe AI adoption. You will lead engagements across Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Purview, focusing on information governance, records management, and the migration and modernization of legacy document and records management platforms. You will also provide technical and delivery leadership across complex migrations, including the use of third‑party tooling such as AvePoint solutions. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise‑grade information architecture, records management, and compliance solutions. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define governance frameworks, implement Microsoft‑native capabilities, and oversee migrations from legacy systems into Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online. As a Manager, you will also mentor consultants, contribute to practice development, and support client engagement growth through solution leadership and advisory. You are an experienced information management professional with a passion for helping organizations transform how they manage and govern their information. You bring a strong balance of technical depth, governance understanding, and consulting capability, and are comfortable leading both design and delivery. Key Responsibilities Information Architecture & Governance
- Lead the design of enterprise information architecture frameworks across SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365
- Define taxonomy, metadata, content types, and classification models aligned to business and regulatory needs
- Establish information governance models, including ownership, lifecycle management, and content stewardship Records Management & Compliance
- Design and implement Microsoft Purview Records Management solutions
- Retention labels and policies
- Records declaration and disposition
- Regulatory compliance alignment (e.g., government or regulated environments)
- Define defensible records management frameworks that support auditability and compliance requirements Migration & Modernisation
- Lead migration strategies from legacy document and records management systems (e.g., OpenText, TRIM, FileShares, SharePoint Server) into SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365
- Design and oversee implementations using migration tooling such as AvePoint (e.g., FLY, Opus) and other third‑party tools
- Ensure chain‑of‑custody, metadata preservation, and compliance integrity throughout migration processes
- Conduct discovery, assessment, and remediation planning for large‑scale content estates Solution Architecture & Delivery
- Architect end‑to‑end solutions integrating SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Microsoft Purview
- Provide technical leadership across design, implementation, and transition phases
- Develop solution documentation, including HLDs, governance frameworks, and migration runbooks Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead client workshops (discovery, information architecture design, governance strategy)
- Translate business requirements into practical and scalable solutions
- Engage with security, compliance, and legal stakeholders to align solutions with regulatory obligations People & Practice Leadership
- Mentor and develop consultants within the Modern Workplace practice
- Contribute to capability build (offerings, accelerators, reusable assets)
- Support pre‑sales activities, including solution shaping and proposal development Qualifications Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive)
- Microsoft Purview (Records Management, Information Protection, Data Lifecycle Management)
- Proven experience designing information architecture and governance frameworks at enterprise scale
- Demonstrated experience implementing records management solutions using Microsoft technologies
- Extensive experience delivering content and records migration projects, including use of AvePoint and other migration tooling
- Strong understanding of compliance, retention, and information lifecycle principles
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., government, financial services, healthcare) highly desirable
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and consulting skills Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5+ years in SharePoint / Microsoft 365 consulting
- Information architecture and/or records management
- Proven experience in leading solution delivery and managing stakeholders at Manager level
- Microsoft certifications such as MS‑102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert), SC‑400 (Information Protection & Compliance Administrator), PL‑200 / PL‑400 (desirable for integration scenarios)
- Certifications in records management, information governance, or archives management (highly regarded)
- Experience with Azure services and integration patterns You Likely Demonstrate
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to design structured, scalable solutions
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders (IT, Legal, Compliance, Records teams)
- A proactive approach to staying current with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Purview capabilities
