Hybrid Tech Risk Analyst - Risk & Controls (City of Sydney)

As our highly valued Technology Risk Analyst based in Brisbane or Sydney, you are part of a team of risk professionals who partner with key stakeholders on all risk, obligation and control matters, providing expertise in the identification and assessment of risk, obligations and controls to support business objectives. Responsibilities
- Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date and fit-for-purpose divisional risk profile.
- Support risk and control identification, risk assessments and risk acceptances.
- Monitor risk appetite, KRIs, thresholds and triggers.
- Support the identification of new and emerging risks and regulatory changes impacting the business.
- Contribute to risk reporting activities within the CIO division and risk committees as required.
- Perform control design and operating effectiveness testing, providing practical recommendations for improvement.
- Support the assessment of incidents, including incident and breach investigations (root cause analysis), and recommend mitigating actions and control improvements.
- Ensure the CIO Business Continuity Plan remains up-to-date and fit for purpose, and support the execution of annual testing.
- Promote a positive risk culture through education and modeling appropriate behaviours. Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in risk management or controls testing (internal/external audit) with a strong understanding of operational risk and compliance in the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of relevant financial services industry standards, acts, codes and legislation (e.g., APRA, Consumer Credit Code, Credit Union Code of Practice, Privacy Act, Trade Practices Act, FSRA).
- Experience in retail banking highly desirable.
- Experience with data analysis and/or artificial intelligence highly desirable.
- Degree in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Member of professional risk management and/or governance associations. Advantages
