Financial Reporting Lead The Financial Reporting Lead is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities
- Manage accurate financial records including GL integrity, journal entry review, balance sheet reconciliations, and support month‑end and year‑end close processes including financial reports preparation.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports ensuring compliance with AASB and internal procedures, and stay abreast of regulatory and accounting standard changes and their impact on reporting obligations.
- Review APRA prudential returns and support ASIC reporting obligations, maintain supporting papers and audit trails, and assist in responding to regulatory queries and examinations.
- Oversee accounts receivable processes including monitoring outstanding balances, timely collections, reconciliations, resolve aged or disputed items, and maintain effective controls and reporting.
- Manage end‑to‑end external audit deliverables, liaise with internal audit on findings and remediation, and contribute to the development, maintenance and monitoring of internal control policies and procedures.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision‑making, provide insights into financial trends, cost implications and areas for improvement to senior stakeholders.
- Oversee, mentor and develop team members, support GL system improvements, and contribute to ongoing finance projects and initiatives. Qualifications
- CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 years in financial reporting, core accounting, and audit in a financial services or insurance setting.
- Strong working knowledge of AASB standards, APRA prudential requirements, and regulatory reporting obligations.
- Ability to lead, mentor and develop a small team while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with ERP systems such as Workday (advantage).
- Ability to clearly articulate complex financial information and present insights confidently to senior stakeholders and external parties.
- Ensure financial reports and statements are delivered accurately and on time, with minimal errors and in full compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Ensure all reconciliations, statutory returns, and audit requirements are completed proactively and thoroughly.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
- Solid stakeholder management, including colleagues and auditors, providing responsive and professional support.
- Demonstrates strong ownership of responsibilities, meets deadlines consistently, and adapts effectively to changing priorities.
