Senior Manager Insurance & Financial Risk Job role supports robust identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of financial risks, while contributing to the broader insurance risk landscape. Reporting to the Head of Insurance and Financial Risk, this role enables embedment and delivery of financial risk management. The organisation is high‑performing, quick‑moving, and seeks a candidate who thrives on challenge, collaboration, and impact. Position Accountabilities Day to day, you will:
- Design, assess and evolve how insurance risk is understood and managed across the business.
- Champion a culture where risk is seen as a business enabler, not just a control function.
- Bring technical expertise to dimension stakeholder engagement.
- Engage, educate and influence senior leaders and SMEs, bringing financial risk to the front of strategic conversations. What experience you’ll bring
- At least 10 years of experience in risk management and experience in general insurance industry is mandatory.
- Relevant tertiary education in quantitative fields such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
- Knowledge of APRA prudential regulation and other relevant regulatory requirements impacting the insurance industry.
- Experience with developing risk reporting for various levels of the business including the Board.
- Proficiency in risk management software and data analysis tools is advantageous.
- High impact presentation skills, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with the Business, the A&G; way.
