Systems Engineer - Windows , Region Services (City of Sydney)

Within the Engineering organisation across Region Services, the Systems Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and automation of complex Windows infrastructure solutions across multiple environments. This role focuses on infrastructure automation, system architecture, and enterprise-scale Windows environment management, including large server fleet deployments. Key Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated solutions for Windows infrastructure deployment and management.
- Architect and maintain Active Directory and domain controller infrastructure across multiple security domains.
- Develop comprehensive Infrastructure as Code templates for Windows environments.
- Create automated workflows for system administration using PowerShell, Python, and other automation tools.
- Design and implement scalable solutions for meeting rooms, video walls, and enterprise printing services.
- Lead technical initiatives for infrastructure improvements and automation.
- Mentor junior engineers on automation best practices and Windows infrastructure management. Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Experience in site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration.
- Experience with Active Directory, or experience deploying, managing, and optimizing Microsoft Windows Server. Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as HTTP and DNS.
- Experience designing and developing scripts to automate operational burdens and reviewing scripting changes to ensure they meet the standards for maintainability, scalability and security.
- Experience working in 24/7 production environment.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services.
