Senior Associate, Real Estate (City of Sydney)

Senior Associate – Real Estate Join the Band 1 Real Estate team in Sydney working closely with Partners Julie Couch and Andrew Leadston. The team represents major Australian and international clients including institutional investors, developers, funds, corporates and government agencies. Role Overview The work spans the full real estate lifecycle: large‑scale commercial, industrial, residential and retail acquisitions, disposals, developments, urban renewal projects, property joint ventures and platform arrangements, major leasing portfolios and infrastructure‑related real estate projects, including energy transition. You will also collaborate with partners and lawyers across the network. Responsibilities
- Assist in transactional real estate matters across development, investment, joint ventures, acquisitions and disposals.
- Apply legal technical knowledge in a commercial environment, providing innovative and commercial advice.
- Manage large‑scale transactions, ensuring first‑class attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of intricate legal matters.
- Contribute proactively to team deliverables and support the growth of the practice. Qualifications
- Australian or Recent Zealand practising certificate.
- Demonstrable experience in transactional real estate (development, investment, joint ventures, acquisitions, disposals).
- Excellent academic record with the ability to apply legal knowledge commercially.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to comprehend complex legal matters.
- A proactive approach and willingness to be an integral member of a leading and supportive team.
