Job Title: Senior Performance/NFT Engineer Location: Sydney (Onshore) Timeline: Immediate Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance/NFT Engineer to join the Bank's dynamic team as part of the critical ETP initiative. This role involves building foundational service and system APIs within the Customer Data Management Domain, directly supporting transformative projects like Commsee 2.0, Netbank 2.0, and Commbiz. These APIs are pivotal for the Bank’s digital transformation, with a specific focus on ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. The Senior Performance Engineer will play a key role in driving the performance engineering efforts, working towards achieving up to 10K transactions per second (TPS) and ensuring robust system resiliency. This is a high-impact role that requires both deep technical expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional, high-performing systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute performance testing strategies to ensure high availability and throughput for service and system APIs.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and work with development teams to optimize performance.
- Develop and maintain performance testing scripts and frameworks.
- Analyze test results and provide insights to improve system performance.
- Ensure the scalability and reliability of APIs to support business transformations.
- Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform API tests to ensure they meet up to 10K TPS performance targets.
- Manage integration and service dependencies (upstream/downstream).
- Implement chaos engineering practices to test service resiliency. Required Skills and Experience:
- Robust background in performance testing, with a focus on high availability and throughput.
- Proficiency in performance testing tools like JMeter and BlazeMeter.
- Experience with monitoring/profiling tools (New Relic, Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
- Deep understanding of API testing and automation.
- Knowledge of cloud-based environments (AWS).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience with chaos engineering and improving service resiliency. Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Previous experience in financial services or similar industries is a plus.
