Organisation / Entity: Transport For NSW. Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia. Job type: Fixed-Term Full-Time, up to 24 or 36 months. Hybrid working model with required in office attendance and approved remote working. Role Overview You’ll be part of TfNSW’s Legal and Governance branch, reporting to the Director Legal – Commercial, Technology and Property. Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior in‑house legal support for the management, procurement and negotiation of new and existing complex passenger service contracts for bus services in NSW.
- Support the procurement of new buses as part of the transition of the state's 8,000+ diesel and natural gas buses to battery electric bus technology.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver legal advice, draft complex contracts and manage challenging negotiations. Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum five years of relevant legal experience and an unrestricted practising certificate.
- Proven track record working on high‑value, complex commercial contracts in a large, complex organisation or private practice.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, ability to make sound decisions within a legal context.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of government procurement frameworks is an advantage; experience within the government sector is not essential.
