website. Primary objective Lead multi-disciplinary teams and community members, to develop cooperative strategies which contribute to improved

health outcomes for Aboriginal Males living in the Barkly Region. Context statement The Aboriginal Health Practitioner classification level AHP4 is an experienced and senior practitioner who is able to work

autonomously, understands the health system and organisation and is able to manage programs; and may be required to

provide independent after hours on call emergency care; professional capabilities to deal with complex situations; and the

ability to manage primary health care programs within a holistic model focussed on improving outcomes for Aboriginal

clients. May be required to reside in and/or travel to remote communities via 4WD or light aircraft within the Barkly Region Key duties and responsibilities 1. Provide professional advice and support in the growth of a sustainable local Aboriginal health worker and practitioner workforce. 2. Coordinate clinical supervision, mentoring, and support to Aboriginal Health Practitioners to enhance their skills, knowledge and professional capabilities across the regions. 3. Engage with community members to strengthen community involvement in health service delivery and growing a local workforce. 4. As a Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner provide practice and cultural support to other health professionals to ensure the delivery of cultural safe health care. 5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. 6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary practice and role modelling behaviour. Selection criteria Essential 1. Current registration with Ahpra as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner with no conditions. 2. Minimum AQF level 6 as per NTPS Aboriginal Health Practitioner 2022-2025 Enterprise Agreement and/or signed learning agreement demonstrating a commitment to achieve this. 3. Demonstrated experience providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care practice within a remote and isolated community as an advanced practitioner. 4. Proven organisational skills and ability to coordinate and manage programs.

5. Demonstrated local cultural knowledge, respect and safety at the community level.

6. Must be able to provide confirmation of Aboriginality; obtain a criminal history check and clearance; and working with children’s clearance (Ochre card). 7. Applicants will be required to have experience driving a manual vehicle and be eligible to obtain a NT drivers licence.
