Job Summary Title: Rural Remote Health Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP)/ Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Tennant Creek and surrounding Barkly region Employment: Full‑time contract (ongoing, dependent on funding) Salary:
- ATSIHP 5.1 – 5.4: $103,159.38
- $114,346.14 per annum
- N4.1 – 4.4: $120,751.00
- $131,350.00 per annum Additional benefits:

- Free prescriptions and access to medical services Key Responsibilities
- Plan and provide remote outreach community screening, health assessments and treatment for individuals and families as per the Northern Territory CARPA standard treatment manual.
- Support teamwork through open communication and collaboration, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
- Follow up on EPC referrals (81300/10950) and provide specified services for clients who have completed preventative health assessments and/or GPMP/TCA.
- Advocate for rights and needs of individuals, families and communities on health‑related issues.
- Participate in the implementation of Anyinginyi’s health programs.
- Provide referrals and bookings for primary health‑care assessments, completion of health checks, CDMPs and allied‑health specialist appointments.
- Facilitate telehealth where required to promote continuity of patient care.
- Comply with all Work Health & Safety responsibilities and maintain knowledge of the application of the MBS.
- Collaborate with AHAC clinics and CDC to provide follow‑up treatment and management of preventable diseases, and lead health‑education awareness activities. Qualifications and Requirements
- Indicate as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Must possess a current registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner and/or Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Primary Health Care system and key issues relevant to closing the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients.
- Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or communities is highly regarded but not essential.
- National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children’s) card obtainment required prior to commencement.
