Where You'll Be Working Tamworth Hospital, the principal referral centre for Hunter New England Local Health District's northern sector, serves over 180,000 people with comprehensive services from emergency to critical care. As a teaching facility affiliated with the University of Newcastle, it fosters education, research and innovation. The Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory operates four days weekly, delivering diagnostic and interventional procedures like coronary angiography and pacemaker insertions within a small, dynamic multidisciplinary team passionate about cardiology excellence. About the Role As a Registered Nurse in Tamworth's Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, you'll rotate through scrub, scout, haemodynamic monitoring and recovery, providing specialised care that ensures protected, efficient procedures and exceptional patient journeys. On any given day, you will prepare patients, assist cardiologists, monitor vital signs, support recovery and maintain equipment within the lab. As Our Newest RN, You Will:
- Hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with Authority to Practice with AHPRA
- Showcase your experience in cardiac nursing
- Have strong communication and patient education skills
- Be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Have precision and confidence in high‑stakes procedural environments Hit the ground running with structured orientation, competency‑based training and ongoing mentorship from the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) and Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS). All payments to part‑time and contract employees will be made on a pro‑ratio basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions. Commencement after this date may be subject to change, including the allowance amount for which the candidate may be eligible. This is a Category A position.
