We provide a collection service to the greater Manning area via collection rooms at Taree and Forster. The busy NSWHP Taree laboratory is located within Manning Hospital a 180 bed acute care general hospital. The position encompasses phlebotomy as well as specimen reception and is based at the hospital and will involve shifts at our collection centres. What we can offer you Financial Benefits

Perform a range of pre analytical duties including pathology collections, receiving and triaging of specimens, patient registration and request entry, specimen processing and preparation for transport or delivery to laboratories for timely accurate diagnostic testing. Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Pathology, Pathology Collections or Pathology Assistance, and/or previous experience in a pathology setting or a demonstrated ability to learn all aspects of the pre analytical environment, including phlebotomy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks in a demanding setting where there are competing priorities and time constraints.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, internal and external.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues.
- Proficient computer skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy and the ability to operate and maintain pre analytical equipment.
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information in a laboratory setting, following relevant legislation, policies, and requirements.
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts.
- Current NSW C‑Class driver’s licence (P1 or P2 accepted) is required. Interstate C‑Class licence holders must obtain an NSW C‑Class licence within three months of appointment. Learner licences are not accepted. Alternatively, applicants must have the capacity to travel to any site or location within the operational area for a shift as required.
