- Base salary from $68,093 + 17% superannuation About the position Reporting to the Coordinator (MAPP) the role is responsible for assisting in the delivery of technical support services across both teaching and research laboratories (where capacity allows), in Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology. This role maintains the day-to-day operational functions of the washup laboratory, providing undergraduate teaching support in labware cleaning, sterilization and general washup. It is also involved in a range of cross-team technical, administrative and facilities support, and assists in ensuring safety, compliance, and legislative requirements and procedures are followed. This role works closely with several stakeholders including teaching academics, Infrastructure and Operations, Health Safety and Environment, and Information Services teams supporting the area. It also contributes to shared services, as provided by the FTS team, consistent with service expectations as determined by either the Coordinator or the Senior Coordinator of Facilities and Technical Services team (Science). It is an essential requirement to support classes as timetabled; flexibility is required for this role as some classes may start and/or finish outside the regular working hours of 8am-6pm Skills and Experience To be considered for this position, you will have:
- A Certificate III in Laboratory Skills with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Good communication skills, including verbal, written, listening, interpreting and nonverbal skills.
- A flexible attitude to work and an ability to accommodate and adapt to change.
- Capability with relevant systems, equipment, processes and procedures.
- Ability to produce accurate work with sound attention to detail.
- Good knowledge and skills in using information technology applications relevant to the role.
- Ability to contribute to procedures and systems within the work area.
- Understanding of working safely in laboratory spaces.
