Employment Details Employment Type: Full Time – 6 or 12 months Fixed Term commencing February or August 2027. Hours: 86 per fortnight Salary: $77.50 per hour (HM30) Location: Mercy Hospital for Women – Heidelberg Responsibilities
- Provide anaesthetic and resuscitation care to in‑patients, including anaesthesia and analgesia services in the Birth Suite, Operating Theatres and the High Dependency Unit, in accordance with the rules pertaining to Registrars/Residents.
- Assume a responsible role in the management of complex cases, supervising junior staff when required.
- Organise departmental non‑clinical educational activities and aim to complete the equivalent of one clinical research paper suitable for presentation at a national meeting or publication in a peer‑reviewed journal.
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the Victorian Public Health Sector (AMA‑Victoria) Doctors in Training (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement. Qualifications and Experience
- Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA).
- Preferred candidates will have passed the ANZCA Fellowship examination or equivalent.
- Position suitable for advanced vocational anaesthetic training for Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) approved training (Provisional Fellowship Year or ATY3).
- May be suitable for International Medical Graduates assessed as Substantially or Partially Comparable and approved by ANZCA as suitable for Clinical Practice Assessment (subject to ANZCA approval). Skills and Attributes
- Excellent clinical, time‑management, organisational and communication skills with the ability to adapt and problem‑solve.
- Compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.
- Ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Required Documentation
- Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
